Hermetic Seal
In the red section: SMFLEX liners are a hermetic sealing system manufactured with closed-cell polyethylene foam (EPE), available with or without outer lamination.
Their main function is to ensure the perfect sealing of the container, preventing the entry or exit of air, liquids, or vapours, thereby preserving the quality of the product inside. Thanks to their high elasticity, resistance, and recovery capacity, SMFLEX liners adapt precisely to any type of cap or container, including those with special neck designs. Their purpose is to conform to the container neck and, through the pressure exerted by the cap, create airtightness, ensuring that—if the container height is correct—no product leaks occur.
They are designed to guarantee a safe and hermetic closure in all types of containers, caps, and packaging, preventing the entry or exit of liquids, air, or vapours, and preserving the original properties of the product inside.
At SM Tecnic, we offer a wide range of densities, thicknesses, and diameters, available in both disc and washer format, with the possibility of customised manufacturing to meet each client’s specific requirements.
Our SMFLEX liners are used across a wide variety of sectors. The PE version is widely used in the agrochemical and plant protection fields, especially in fertiliser containers or polyethylene jerrycans. The EPE version is ideal for food products thanks to its light weight and sealing performance.
The PE version is also used in the agrochemical and plant protection sectors, particularly in fertiliser packaging and polyethylene containers, as well as in cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications.

SMFLEX EPE
Unlaminated polyethylene foam hermetic seal
The SMFLEX EPE liner is our standard reference in unlaminated polyethylene foam (PE).
It provides excellent elasticity, low density, and optimal recovery capacity, making it an economical and effective solution for ensuring a hermetic closure in any type of container.
It is commonly used in the food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries, where a light and reliable liner is required.
At SM Tecnic we offer a wide catalogue of densities and thicknesses, adapting to any required diameter—both in disc or washer formats. In addition, our own technology allows us to produce foam liners with variable geometries that can adapt to containers with special necks.
SMFLEX PE
Polyethylene foam hermetic seal with lamination
This liner incorporates a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) lamination on both sides, enhancing mechanical resistance and chemical protection against products that could degrade less resistant materials.
Additionally, the lamination improves the surface finish, providing a higher-quality and more durable appearance to the final container.
Available in several technical configurations:
- SMFLEXpe 1-350 – Density 350 kg/m³, LDPE lamination
- SMFLEXpe 1.5-250 – Density 250 kg/m³, HDPE lamination
- SMFLEXpe 2-250 – Density 250 kg/m³, HDPE lamination
All versions comply with European Regulation 10/2011 on plastic materials intended to come into contact with food, guaranteeing their safety and suitability for food use.
